Features Hightlight
Additional Charges
One of our trending features, the “Add Additional Charges” option is an ultra-flexible and dynamic method of automating the addition and calculation of line items to existing Estimates, Sales Orders, and Invoices. A few common uses:
When a Ship-To address for a line or order is in a certain area, a special freight surcharge line item is automatically added on save, calculated for the number of existing lines, volume, and quantity.
When line items are subject to tariffs, a tariff surcharge of a given percent is automatically calculated and added to the transaction.
When a product is sold that requires separate hardware to be shipped with the order, the appropriate hardware kit or items are automatically added to the order.
If any of those examples look like something that would help make order entry easier for you, feel free to log a ticket, send us an email, or give us a call to help you get set up!
Did You Know?
Transaction Line Grid User Defined Fields
The odds are good that you have access to and are making use of Module User Defined fields to help capture custom data in different areas of the system. Did you know that you can now add the same type of fields directly to transaction lines as new, custom columns?
Available for Purchase Order, Advanced Delivery Schedule, Estimate, Sales Order, Work Order, Shipping, Invoice, and Credit Note modules
For modules that have Excel calculation options like the PriceList.xls and VendorPriceList.xls workbooks, these fields can also be used in your formulas, and changing these fields can trigger a recalculation of pricing based on your own custom rules!
To add these new columns, select one of the modules above in the User Defined Setup form and select option in the User Defined Module Grids box beginning with “grd”. Any fields you add here will now appear as new line-level columns, ready to be repositioned and used for your custom data.

Important Announcements
Microsoft Excel ActiveX Security Settings
We have been receiving reports of isolated cases where individual users are not able to create configured order lines as expected. For example, while it appears the configurator processes the line without error, if you check the bill of material you will see that one was not created. In each case we have reviewed so far, the root cause of the issue has been the Excel Trust Center ActiveX setting of the affected user's Excel installation. The relevant setting can be found in Excel here: Excel Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > ActiveX settings
If Disable all controls without notification is enabled this is the likely cause of the issue. Changing this setting to either "Enable all controls without restrictions and without prompting" or "Prompt me before enabling all controls with minimal restrictions" should restore the expected behaviour. However, if the issue persists please contact Seradex support.
Supported Software
Support for SQL Server versions 2008, 2008R2, 2012 and 2014 has been discontinued. Also, support for sxRuntime.mdb and the classic Visual Basic 6 forms has been discontinued. If you are still using any of these technologies, while you will be able to update your license, you will not be able to download software updates until you migrate to supported sofware. We will assist you with this migration; please submit a support ticket to get started.
