From the Search Designer screen, select a field that you wish to use to display the custom format text or symbol. In the example the SubTotal field will be used.
The first step is to enter an Alias for this field. As you can see an alias named “SubTotal_” has been entered for the field SubTotal.
Scroll over to the right. For the row that contains the field SubTotal select Format (Custom Format) that created named Sales Analysis Custom Format.
For the Format Evaluation Field, select SubTotal_. The Format Evaluation Field will show you a listing of fields in the Base Query that can be used for evaluation against the criteria setup in the Custom Format.
In the example, so far the system evaluated the SubTotal field from the Base Query against the criteria setup in the Custom Format named Sales Analysis Custom Format and format the result in the SubTotal field which has an alias of SubTotal_.
