Sales Commissions Setup

Prerequisites:

 

 

The Commission module must be Activated – please see your Project Manager or contact a Seradex Sales Representative if is not.

 

 

Commissions Setup Procedure

 

 

There are two basic methods for commission calculations. Method one involves commissions  calculated using the configurator and price list excel  sheets. Please refer to documentation on the excel sheets for this method. The second approach is using the advanced commissions module – which is outlined here.

 

Step 1 - Select the Sales Commission Icon in the CRM section of the OrderStream profile / Appbox

Step 2 - Select Commission Rules from the Tools menu.

 

Click Add and create one rule for each standard commission percentage that is commonly paid on a sale.

Click Save to save the record.  You will be able to override non standard rules on an order by order basis if desired.

 

Step 3 - Under Tools - Click on Commission Groups

 

Next, select Commission Groups from the Tools menu to create a new Commission Group.  Enter a name for the new Commission Group, an appropriate description, and the date on which the new commission group becomes effective.  Click Save when you are finished.  For example you could create three groups:

 

a single rep no split
a group with a 50/50 split
a group with an 80/20 split

If you do not offer commissions to two or more reps for the same order you need only create one group.

 

Step 4 - Return to the Commission Details form and select an existing  commission rule, enter the commission rate and click save.

Step 5 - Click on the Commission Group Details Tab.

 

Click on the header section and press the Insert Key to add a row for a new record

Select an Commission Rule from the drop down list.

 

If this rule will apply to the Sales representatives on the sales order then leave this field blank. If it will apply to a specific rep that is not specified on the sales order then select the rep from the drop down list.

 

The example shown below is the case of no commission split.

When completed click on the Save button.

 

The form below shows the case for a 50/50 split of 10% commission:

Step 6 – For each customer that you are paying commissions you must select the appropriate Commission Group.

Step 7 – For each category or product line that commissions will be calculated on the commission flag must be set to True

Step 8 – Create a sales order, select a customer and add items to the order. Then under the Tools menu click on Edit Commissions:

 

The following form opens:

The commission amount is calculated based on the rules that were setup – in this case 10%. You can override the Commission % and also add additional sales reps for additional commission split if desired.
