Prerequisites
The Data Collection module must be activated. If you have not yet purchased a license, please contact your project manager or a Seradex Sales Representative.
Module Overview
The Data Collection form is used to enter hard copy data that was collected from the shop floor. By adding shop floor information into the system through the Data Collection module it becomes possible to view the status of a Work Order through the Production Status module, either during production, or as a post-production summary.
This form is launched from the OrderStream profile bar by clicking on the Production tab, followed by the Data Collection icon.
Adding Data Collection
The first thing that needs to be done is to click the ADD button located in the bottom left of the form. Doing this will clear any information that is already on the form and prepare it for the entry of new information.
To enter all the detail from your shop floor documents follow the steps outlined below,
1 | Select the Employee that did the production on the Work Order |
2 | In the details section fill in the hours it took to do the work, as well as the Earning Code, (this is typically either regular or overtime, and selecting it will bring up the appropriate hourly rate) |
3 | Select the Work Order number, (this will fill in the Qty on WO further to the right) |
4 | Now choose which line item from the work order this set of data is for by selecting it from the column labelled Item No. (this will fill in the Qty Complete to Date further to the right) |
5 | The column labeled Op No. contains a list of all available operations that can be done on that line item, as determined from the BOM. Select the appropriate operation for this set of data. |
(Doing this will bring up the appropriate Work Centre and Job Cost Cat.)
6 | Fill in the Qty Completed Today column with the total number of parts that have been completed for that line item from the shop floor documents. |
7 | The completed flag defaults to Yes if you enter a quantity at or above the line item quantity. |
The rest of the information on the line item is strictly optional. There is no need to add any of it in, but the more information you have, the greater the information that you can get out of the system through either the Production Status module, or through any of the standard reports.
