Electronic Kanban - Seradex ERP Module

Automatic Inventory Control and Purchasing
KanBan is a central element of Lean manufacturing and is the most widely used Pull signalling system. Kanban was invented in Japan. In Japanese Kan stands for card and Ban means signal. Kanban can be more effective than trying to control some types of inventory using software. Simply described a pull production system controls the flow of work through a factory by only releasing materials into production as the customer demands them i.e. only when they are needed. Kanban controls inventory on a just in time (JIT) basis. A push system on the other hand would release material into production as customer orders are processed and material becomes available, MRP (Material Requirement Planning / Manufacturing Resource Planning) systems are typically push systems. What must be made clear at this point is that Kanban is not a scheduling system but rather a production control system.Discover Electronic Kanban - the next generation of automated inventory control systems. The Japanese pioneered the Just - In - Time philosophy and have used "pull" systems as a powerful competitive weapon. Yet the Japanese have not adopted computerization to the extent North America has. So how does Japan achieve Just In Time without any use of computers whatsoever? The answer lies in a Japanese technique called KANBAN. KANBAN is a simple system that relies on a KANBAN card. The card contains simple reorder information and circulates between customer and supplier.
